This notice covers traveljotter.app, the website for the TravelJotter app. It does not cover the app itself: see the App Privacy Policy.

The website is run by AtomSparq Ltd, registered in England & Wales (company no. 17277162), 208 Mill Road, Cambridge, England, CB1 3NF. AtomSparq Ltd is the controller of the personal information we process as described in this notice.

The short version

  • We do not use advertising, visitor analytics scripts or tracking pixels on this website.
  • Cloudflare processes technical information to deliver and protect the website, and may provide us with aggregate statistics and security information.
  • If you email us, we use your information to deal with your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Hosting and security

We use Cloudflare to host and protect the website. When you visit, Cloudflare receives technical information such as your IP address, the requested URL, request time and browser information. It processes this information to deliver pages, maintain the service and protect against abuse.

Cloudflare may make request statistics and security information available to us. We use these for operating and protecting the website, not to build visitor profiles or target advertising.

For processing carried out on our behalf, Cloudflare acts as our service provider under its Data Processing Addendum. Cloudflare also processes some information for its own purposes, as explained in its Privacy Policy.

Our lawful basis for the processing we control is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website.

Cookies and analytics

We do not use Web Analytics or other visitor analytics scripts. We do not use cookies or similar technologies for advertising or visitor tracking.

Cloudflare may use cookies, scripts or similar technologies to provide security features, such as detecting automated traffic and checking whether a visitor is human. These are separate from the optional Web Analytics service, which we do not enable. Cloudflare explains these technologies in its cookie documentation and Privacy Policy.

Contacting us

If you email us, we receive your email address and any information you include. We use this to respond and deal with your enquiry. We may also remove identifying information from feedback so that we can keep useful suggestions for improving the app. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries, providing support and improving TravelJotter.

Microsoft provides AtomSparq Ltd's email service and processes correspondence on our behalf. We do not use your enquiry to send marketing emails.

How long information is kept

We normally delete support correspondence within three months after the enquiry has been resolved. We may retain it for longer where reasonably necessary to handle an ongoing issue, establish or defend legal claims, or meet a legal obligation. We may keep feedback that is useful for improving the app after removing information that identifies you.

We may retain aggregate website statistics indefinitely as business records, provided they do not identify individuals, either on their own or when combined with other information reasonably available to us. This does not apply to IP addresses or other information that could identify a visitor.

Technical and security records held within Cloudflare's services are subject to the retention arrangements for those services. For personal information processed on our behalf, our retention criteria are the time needed to operate the website, investigate and resolve security incidents, and meet applicable legal obligations. Any separate copies we retain are subject to the same criteria.

For information Cloudflare processes for its own purposes, its Privacy Policy explains its retention criteria.

International processing

Cloudflare and Microsoft operate internationally, so information handled through their services may be processed outside the UK, including in the United States.

For international processing carried out on our behalf, we rely on the data-protection commitments in our providers' service agreements. These include recognised adequacy arrangements or approved contractual safeguards where applicable. Details of Cloudflare's transfer arrangements are available in its Data Processing Addendum and Privacy Policy. Microsoft describes its commitments in its Products and Services Data Protection Addendum.

Our website links to other sites, including the App Store and atomsparq.com. Their privacy notices explain how they handle information when you visit them.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing, and receive certain information in a portable format.

To ask about your information or exercise your rights, email traveljottersupport@atomsparq.com.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
